What a year 2022 has been for North Fork Women.

What a year 2022 has been for North Fork Women. We were able to come back from Covid with your tremendous participation at The Founders Award, First Friday Friends and our Labor Day Benefit. In addition, this year we ran our first Pride Golf event and it too, was extremely successful. We thank you for your involvement, your generosity and your participation. Kudos to all of you.

Today I am asking you to help us once more by contributing to our Annual Appeal. The post pandemic era, coupled with high inflation has caused unusual hardship for some of our members. It was a year of greater need as shown by the most number of grant applications in the history of the organization. With the standard withdrawal from our Founders Fund and with income from our events, we were able to grant over $45,000 to 14 members of our community so far this year, plus the installation of grab bars. We provided over $5,000 for medical alert devices and answered 16 HelpHer calls to date, all done by volunteers in our community.

It was a year of greater need as shown by the most number of grant applications in the history of the organization.

As the year begins to wind down, I would like to thank the board of North Fork Women, our grants committee and our advisory board. I’d also like to thank members who have helped at events or brought us ideas for new programs that help our members, such as the Circle of Friends bereavement group, the fitness group and the Parents Connection. Please know that you help to guide us along our way.

There is another way of giving. We are looking for committee members to get involved and bring new ideas to our membership. If you are interested, please send an email to info@northforkwomen.org. We continue to act on the recommendations you have provided, and will always look at ways we can improve on what we are delivering.
