2025 Year End Appeal
Thursday, November 13, 2025 - Sunday, January 4, 2026
This past year, despite its challenges, has proven to be one filled with many achievements and joyful events for our community. We continue to thrive and grow thanks to our members and friends. Fostering community, forging new friendships, providing educational workshops, and combating isolation are essential to North Fork Women's goals of wellness and well-being.
Today I am a
sking you to help us again by contributing to our Annual Appeal. The needs of our community are ever present, and meeting these challenges takes support. As of October 2025, income from our fundraising events and donations have enabled us to provide grants to 20 members, totaling $14,813. These are in addition to $3,855 for medical alert devices — and the year isn't over yet. We are also proud of our ever-increasing participation in local public events such as the Annual Juneteenth Parade, Maritime Parade, and of course, the Annual North Fork Pride Parade.
Our monthly First Friday Friends gatherings have become a basic staple in addition to our many annual events such as the Founders Award Dinner, Oyster Extravaganza, Breast Cancer support group, the Pride Golf Outing, and Labor Day Benefit. Out and About hiking groups, Game Days, and MusicPLUS! workshops have been added as well. Stay tuned for the upcoming dates!
Our outreach and collaborations with our neighboring North Fork organizations continue to expand. This past summer we were able to raise $1,000 to send local children from underserved communities to summer camp through a combined effort with CAST. We have sent volunteers to assist Promise Land Apiaries with assembling packages of Thanksgiving dinners for those in need. We have supported, through donations and letter writing, other community organizations that have experienced harassment and intimidation.
As we continue to plan for the months ahead, your support strengthens and helps guide our direction, enabling us to help those in need within our community and beyond.
We look forward to the new possibilities on the horizon with our friends at The Butterfly Effect Project. We are especially pleased as our co-sponsored events and collaborations with Queerli (Queer Long Island) continue to grow and flourish, deepening and enriching our beautiful joint community.
