Shari Diamond: ‘Holding Not Having’

Winning Bid: $175.00

This print is in a series of ‘Holding Not Having’. It is a beautifully framed, signed and made with archival pigmented inkjet inks.

When she made this series, Shari wrote”

My mother died in 2000 and my father died in 2004. Experiencing these losses made me keenly aware of the ephemerality of life. In this series, I explored the impermanence and temporality of our lives, disrupting the mirage of permanence inherent in photographic images while envisioning the imprint that is left behind. Images from the natural world are superimposed onto photographs taken of friends and family, creating a confluence of human and natural forms, of that which was present then, and that which is carried forth.
